Startup Journey - making Eligere: update August 3, 2025

Hi everyone. I am working on Eligere, the app I’ve been working on for macOS. When you click on a link outside of your web browser it opens in your default web browser. If you use more than one web browser on a regular basis having a single default web browser can be very restrictive and hard to use. That’s where Eligere comes in: instead of having a single default browser Eligere opens links in the right browser for that particular situation based on configuration you created.

So I am testing the idea of posting weekly reports about projects I do in my spare time. To see if it makes some benefits.

Last week mostly what I did was some marketing things. I decided what few things I am going to make:

- Make an article for Reddit for browsers to show how somebody can deal with using several browsers at the same time. I am going to give few app examples, not only Eligere. Eligereis going to one of options, but not the only one.

- Prepare article about Eligere for macapps is showcase the app itself. It is going to be a short text version of YT video I did recently about Eligere:

Watch on YouTube

From Marketing perspective I played with changed on main page for https://eligere.dev trying to describe better what problem app solves and how.

But, apart from tweaking the website and searching for new ways to promote the app - I don’t know what to do from features perspective. Seems I have done all the things I wanted to implemented. There are few small ideas, but not sure if it’s worth it. I will keep trying to play with marketing as it is my area where I suck the most.
